Project: Vivarium
An self designed vivarium
What is it?
A vivarium is an aquarium with a land part. This can be used for animals that live both in the water and on the land like newts, toads, and frogs. I wanted to keep newts and toads and had an aquarium laying around. So this is why I decided to try and design a vivarium myself with the filter system for the water incorporated.
Execution
I designed the parts in fusion 360 in such a way that they can be laser cut in acrylic and glued together. There are two rings to the design. The outer ring is where dirt can be put, with below only water. The inner layer is where the filtration system and pump are housed. This can be opened to do maintenance to the filter material.
